Pitchblack Games: Dominus

Project: ASML, Technical semiconductor wafer machine illustrations.
 
Objective: To sustain the annual marketing campaigns within the semiconductor industry, ASML commissioned extremely high resolution CAD illustrations to showcase at technical and commercial events and publications. Each machine was carefully re-constructed in 3D CAD from personal surveys, photographs and technical drawings. The purpose is to show a reveal of the inner workings using flashy glows and other effects in the renderings.

The AP Next constructed semiconductor paths through chemical vapor deposition. You can see the pressurized gas chambers in the cabinets on the right side.

1250 Twinscan

Using laser beams magnified and refocused to etch semiconductor paths on a microchip wafer at a size of 90 nanometers! The machine's major moving part that housed the aperture had to actuate in anticipation of the laser firing at the speed of light.
ProCell

ProCell

The ProCell developer tool, developed wafers bathed in UV light. Frankly speaking, though it was a handsome machine, I never really understood how it worked entirely.
